Early November in the Monadnock region is quiet, which makes a relaxed afternoon on a working farm feel like exactly the right speed. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Brewers of Nye Hill Farm are opening their brewery and farm to the public from noon to 3 PM for a fundraiser, and every dollar raised goes to the Monadnock Humane Society.

What is happening

According to the Monadnock Humane Society's event page, the afternoon is built around three things: beer, farm views and homemade goods. Visitors can grab a pint, take in the scenery and shop a selection of farm products, including:

  • Maple syrup
  • Maple candy
  • Blueberry jam
  • Honey

There is also a raffle, with a basket of farm goods and Nye Hill Farm merchandise as the prize.

The Humane Society states that 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit its work caring for animals in need.

Who the Brewers of Nye Hill Farm are

The brewery's own website describes it as a microbrewery in Roxbury, in Cheshire County, which it calls "the quiet corner" of the Monadnock region. The brewers describe themselves as farmers first, and say they brew the way they farm, in the spirit of the Slow Food movement. Their site makes a few firm promises about the beer: no extracts, real fruit, real ginger, real maple syrup and real coffee, and no contract brewing, meaning everything they pour is brewed on the farm.

It is a small, focused operation, and the site is blunt about it: they brew beer. That makes an open farm day a rare chance to see where it is made.

Important: leave the dog at home

This is a story about an animal shelter fundraiser, so it is worth flagging clearly. The Humane Society describes the event as family-friendly, but it asks visitors to leave their four-legged friends at home. Plan accordingly if you usually bring the dog along on weekend outings.

Planning your visit

  • Date and time: Saturday, November 7, 2026, noon to 3 PM.
  • Where: Nye Hill Farm. The farm's site places the brewery in Roxbury; the Humane Society's event page does not list a street address, so check with the Humane Society for directions before you set out.
  • Bring: Cash or a card for the farm goods and raffle (the event page does not say which payment methods are accepted, so having both is the safe choice), and a warm layer for an outdoor November afternoon.
  • Designate a driver: This is a brewery event on rural roads, so plan who is driving before you arrive.

About the Monadnock Humane Society

The Monadnock Humane Society is based at 101 W. Swanzey Road in Swanzey and is a registered 501(c)(3). Its shelter lists public hours of 11 AM to 3 PM Thursday through Sunday, and it is closed to the public Monday through Wednesday. You can reach it at (603) 352-9011 with questions about the farm day.

Make it a Monadnock Saturday

A three-hour window in the middle of the day leaves plenty of time to build a fuller day around it, whether that means a late lunch nearby or a drive through the region's back roads on the way home.

Whether you go for the beer, the maple syrup or the animals, this is one of the simpler ways to spend a November Saturday in southwestern New Hampshire, and the money stays in the region.
